Four injured in clash at a filling station

Four people have been injured and hospitalised following a clash at a filling station in Wellawaya last night (June 24).

According to reports, an argument among several individuals who were waiting in the fuel queue had escalated quickly, when one of them attacked another with a knife.

Following the incident, the injured people were rushed to the Wellawaya Base Hospital. One of them, who was critically injured, was later transferred to Monaragala District Hospital.

The Wellawaya Police has initiated investigations in search of the perpetrator who has since fled the area.
