All schools within Colombo Zone, suburbs of Western Province and schools located in the main cities of other provinces will remain closed until the 10th of July, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardena says.

Schools in other areas will function as per the discretion of the principals and education officials, he added.

He also said that school principals and provincial education authorities are given permission to decide on how lessons are delivered to the students amidst this crisis situation.

The minister added that inter-provincial transport services will be temporarily halted due to the availability of limited stocks of fuel.
