Duties, institutions gazetted under Defence Ministry amended

A special gazette notification has been issued by Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe, amending the duties, functions and institutions specified under the Ministry of Defence.

Accordingly, several institutions which were previously gazetted under the purview of the Ministry of Investment Promotion have been assigned to the Ministry of Defence.

The Board of Investment, the Colombo Port City Economic Commission, the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt.) Limited, the Techno Park Development Company (Pvt.) Limited, the Information Technology Parks and the Rakna Arakshaka Lanka Limited will now function under the Ministry of Defence.
