Nihal Wedaarachchi, the brother of MP Dilip Wedaarachchi was arrested by the police today (August 11).

According to the police spokesman, he was taken into custody in connection with the violent incidents that took place on the 09th of May.

The arrestee will be produced before the magistrate’s court later today. Tangalle Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.

Nihal Wedaarachchi is reportedly a former member of the Southern Provincial Council.
