Sri Lanka sees drop in workers’ remittances

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) says the workers’ remittances channelled through official channels in July 2022 saw 50% drop in comparison to the corresponding period in 2021.

According to CBSL statistics, the workers’ remittances in July this year were USD 279.5 million.

The cumulative figure for January-July 2022 was USD 1,889.4 million, the CBSL said further.
