Ruhunu Kumari express train derails

The Ruhunu Kumari express train which was en route from Beliatta to Maradana derailed in the Boossa area this morning (Aug 15), General Manager of Railways Gamini Seneviratne says.

Owing to the situation, the train services on the Coastal Line are experiencing delays.

Further, the trains operating between Colombo and Hikkaduwa have been limited.

The railway workers are currently making efforts to put the derailed express train back on track, Mr. Seneviratne added
