Lankan heading to Afghanistan stranded in Delhi

Investigations are to be conducted on a group of Sri Lankan who were found stranded in New Delhi. The group had claimed that they were heading to Afghanistan, says the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

 

 

The group of 11 which was attempting to enter Afghanistan via New Delhiwas taken into the custody of the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi.

 

 

It has been revealed that a Foreign Employment agency in the Ja-ela area had undertaken to send this group illegally to Afghanistan.

 

The SLBFE is in the process of obtaining further particulars from the Sri Lanka High commission in New Delhi regarding this incident, said SLBFE chairman Kingsley Ranawaka.
