A group of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) members are on a tour of the North to gain first hand information of the problems faced by the people in the area, says the party’s media unit.

The group will tour the area and return to Colombo on Wednesday. It is to gather information on the present status of the IDP welfare centres, resettled villages and its residents, and the problems faced by the IDP as well as the people of the North, the media unit says.

The group includes JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe, Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Bimal Ratnayake, Ramalingam Chandrasekeran and M. Mohan.
