12-year-old dies in strangulation accident

A 12-year-old child has died of strangulation inside a house in Pitarathmalewatta, Haputale.
The child is believed to have strangled herself on a saree that was hung from a beam which was used as a cradle for her younger sister.
A postmortem examination confirmed that the girl had died of asphyxiation, however, further investigations are to be conducted by the Haputale Police.
