Court rejects Fonseka’s appeal for suspension of second Court martial

The petition filed by General (retired) Sarath Fonseka moving court to suspend the second Court Martial instituted against him, has been rejected by the Court of Appeal.


Issuing the rejection order, Appeal Court chairman justice Satya Hettige stated that there were no sufficient reasons provided for the suspension of the second Court Martial the court was rejecting it without taking it up for examination.


Accordingly, the three-member bench of the Court of Appeal unanimously decided to reject the appeal without any examination.
