Murali will play vs India before retirement: SLC

Muttiah Muralitharan will retire from Test cricket only. However the retirement will be after playing against Indiain the Test match in Galle on July 18, says Sri Lankacricket (SLC).

 

 

Meanwhile, a media release from SLC states, “World’s leading wicket-taker and champion spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has decided to retire from test cricket after the first test in Galleversus Indiacommencing July 18.

 

 

“Mr. Muralitharan has had discussions with the National Selectors, SLC officials and has had the blessings of his Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Minister of Sports C.B. Ratnayake.

 

 

“Sri Lanka Cricket will hold an official Press Conference to announce his retirement in due course.”
