Sri Lanka repaid first instalment of Indian credit line - Siyambalapitiya

From the first tranche of the IMF bailout package, USD 121 million was used to repay the first installment of the Indian credit line, State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says.

The State Minister explained that measures are underway to repay the loans Sri Lanka received under the Indian Line of Credit, and accordingly, USD 121 million was already repaid yesterday (23 March).

The first tranche of the EFF, amounting to USD 330 million, was credited to the account of the Deputy Secretary to the Ministry of Finance’s account, the State Minister said, adding that the EFF is expected to be used towards bettering Sri Lanka’s financial stability.
