STC Manager suspended for timber smuggling

The Ampara Provincial Manager of the State Timber Corporation has been suspended after he was accused of being involved in timber smuggling in the Mahaoya, Rambukkanoya area.

 

Chairman of the State Timber Corporation, S. Amarasinghe said that two officials were also suspended previous to this in connection to the same incident.

 

Information regarding this illegal smuggling had been uncovered by Range Forest Officers from the Department of Forest Conservation.
