Schoolteacher injured in shooting at Balapitiya

A shooting incident that took place in Balapitiya this morning (May 26) has left a schoolteacher injured.

According to the police, the injured schoolteacher, who serves in the Ambalangoda educational zone, has also served a deputy principal of a leading school in Ambalangoda.

He was gunned down near the Balapitiya Court while travelling on a motorcycle.

Meanwhile, another motorcyclist was shot at in the Andadola area of Ambalangoda on Thursday night (May 25).

However, no casualties were reported in this shooting.
