A Sri Lankan fishing craft reported missing from February 22 this year has run ashore on the beaches of South Africa, according to news reports.

This craft is reported to have set sail from Beruwela in Sri Lanka. The crew had been the boat’s owner and three others. The news report identifies them as Sarath Perera, Suresh, Bermy and R. Manoj.

The four who had been in the boat had been rescued by the South African Coast Guard while drifting close to shore.

The Sri Lankan Ministry of External Affairs is discussing with its South African counterparts regarding arrangements to bring the fishermen back to the island, according to the news report.
