Wage hike discussions successful – FUTA

August 3, 2010   10:17 am

Discussions regarding the wage hike have been successful, claims the Federation of University Teachers Associations. The Secretary of FUTA, Rohan Fernando said that at the meeting held yesterday with the Higher Education Minister, it was agreed that a new circular will be issued concerning the wage hikes.

However, if the said circular is not in action by the 16th of this month, the university officials will go ahead with the resignation from their posts.

Rohan Fernando also stated that the important issue was not presenting the proposal to the Treasury, but to get the approval for wage hike.
