4,763 human rights complaints from North

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has received 4,763 complaints from May 2009 up until now from the Northern Province alone, says an official of the SLHRC.

 

 

He also said that these complaints have been made at the Human Rights Commission’s offices located at Vavuniya, Mannar and Jaffna and that over 3,000 of the complaints are regarding disappearances.

 

 


The Commission has also received several complaints regarding illegal detentions and arrests, he said.
