I will not accept the verdict of the first Court Martial, MP Sarath Fonseka said at the Parliamentary complex a short while ago. The first Court Martial convicted Sarath Fonseka, a former army chief, of meddling in politics on August 13.

The court also rescinded Fonseka’s rank and medals, he said.  President Mahinda Rajapaksa authorized the verdict of the first Court Martial against Sarath Fonseka to strip him of all military ranks on August 14.
