November 28, 2023   08:01 am

Train services are likely to be delayed on the coastal line due to a technical issue experienced by a slow train plying from Galle to Matara, at the Kumbalgama railway station.

The engine of a slow train traveling from Galle to Matara has broken down near the Kumbalgama railway station, the Railway Department said.

Accordingly, it is reported that this has resulted in one of the rail tracks being blocked while all train traveling from Matara towards Galle are expected to be delayed due to this.

The ‘Ruhunu Kumari’ and ‘Galu Kumari’ trains plying to Colombo will experience delays owing to this, according to the Railways Control Room.
