Motorists cautioned as section of Norton Bridge-Maskeliya road collapses

A section of the Norton Bridge - Maskeliya main road has collapsed near the Kiriwan Eliya Pathana area this morning (04), the police said.
The road collapse has occurred at around 10.30 a.m. today, owing to the heavy downpours prevailing in the area, the police revealed.
Accordingly, the Norton Bridge Police urge the motorists passing through the area not drive vehicles near the embankment area of the road while driving.
Furthermore, the motorists are informed to drive with caution since there is a risk of earth slips and road collapses at several other places along the road.
