One arrested over murder of NLDB Sales Centre security guard

A 43-year-old individual has been arrested in connection with the murder of the security guard at the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) Sales Centre in Beligamuwa in October.
The Police Media Division reported that the individual, identified as a resident of Kapuwatta, Dambulla, was arrested while hiding in the Sedawatte area in Thotalanga on Wednesday (06 Dec.).
On 26 October, the NLDB Beligama Sales Center was broken into, and the body of 52-year-old K. Swaminathan, the security guard, was found gagged, with his hands and feet bound.
Accordingly, further investigations into the incident are to be continued by the Crimes Unit of the Matale Police, the Police Media Division reported.
