One injured in shooting at Habaraduwa

One person has been injured in a shooting that took place in the Thalpe North area in Habaraduwa today (09).

Police stated that an unidentified group of individuals pretending to be police officers had abducted the man out of his house in a car, and shot him before abandoning him on the roadside.

The person, who was shot in his thigh, was later admitted to Karapitiya Hospital for treatment, the police said.

The 30-year-old is a resident of the Navimana area of Matara, according to police.

Habaraduwa Police is conducting investigations in search of the suspects in connection with the incident.
