Parliamentary debate on Second Reading of VAT (Amendment) Bill tomorrow

The second reading debate of the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill is slated to be taken up for debate tomorrow (10 Dec.), the Department of Communication of Parliament says.

Meanwhile, the second reading debate of the Finance Bill is also scheduled to take place tomorrow.

The debate is scheduled to be held from 09:30 a.m. to 04:30 p.m., as decided by the Committee on Parliamentary Business (COPB).

The decision was taken at a meeting held on 20 November, under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.

The last three days of the Committee Stage Debate of the budget is scheduled to be held from Monday (11 Dec.), to Wednesday (13 Dec.), while the division on the third reading of the Appropriation Bill (Budget) for the financial year 2024 is scheduled to be held on 13 December at 06:00 p.m.
