The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has stated that power supply has been restored to several areas by now, adding that efforts are underway to restore the power supply to all other areas.

The CEB further noted that an estimated time of two hours is required to restore the interrupted supply of electricity.

Earlier this evening (09 Dec.), major power outages were reported across the country due to a breakdown in the transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama.
