Train operations along the Upcountry Line have been disrupted by two earth slips, the Railways Department says.

According to reports, the earth slips have occurred between Geli Oya and Gampola, and Hali-Ela and Demodara.

As such, the Badulla-bound night mail train departing Colombo Fort has also been cancelled today (Dec.10), the Railways Department said further.

Meanwhile, train operations along the Main Line were also hampered this evening after a tree fell across the stretch of railway tracks between Ragama and Walpola.

As a result, trains plying on the Main Line are experiencing delays, the Railways Department added.
