Rs. 134mn worth of assets belonging to drug traffickers seized

More assets worth millions of rupees belonging to drug traffickers and criminal figures have been seized in the operation ‘Yukthiya’ which was launched in a bid to dismantle the narcotics distribution network.

As such, ill-gotten assets valued at Rs. 134 million owned by drug traffickers located in Galle, Habaraduwa and Hikkaduwa have been impounded by the Illegal Assets and Properties Investigation Division of the Sri Lanka Police.

Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) said the seized assets include 45-foot multi-day trawler, a van, an SUV, a four-storied villa, a three-storied building.
