Asiri Port City Hospital receives Cabinet approval

The Cabinet of Ministers have approved a proposal to announce the Asiri Port City Hospital (Pvt) Company as a primary business of strategic importance through a gazette notification and to grant related exemptions or incentives.

Earlier, it was proposed by Asiri Port City Hospital (Pvt) Company to implement a project to develop a hospital within the Colombo Port City, under an investment of USD 100 million.

Accordingly, the relevant project was deemed eligible for exemptions or incentives under 2(b) of Colombo Port City (Guidelines on the Grant of Exemptions or Incentives to Businesses of Strategic Importance) Regulations, No. 2 of 2023.

As such, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion, tabled to the Cabinet that the relevant exemptions or incentives be granted for the said project, adding that the project be announced as a primary business of strategic importance through a gazette order and later presented before the Parliament.
