Sapugaskanda kidnapping: Main suspect nabbed

Sapugaskanda police have apprehended the main suspect behind the kidnapping of an eight-year-old boy from Makola. The suspect had been nabbed in Kurunegala and is said to be an employee of the boy’s father.

 

The boy who had been kidnapped for a ransom of eight hundred thousand rupees, escaped after he was thrown into the Victoria Tank in Thalathu Oya by his abductors. He had escaped by hanging on to the branch of a tree on the inclined bank.

 

Later the boy had crawled up the incline and reached the road. A vehicle passing by had noticed the boy and informed the Talatuoya police who have taken custody of the boy.
