Why all Tamil parties can’t come together, questions Rao

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao expressed India’s sentiments towards the wellbeing of minorities in Sri Lanka but questioned why all Tamil parties couldn’t come together, Nalliah Kumaraguruparan General Secretary DPF said today.  Kumaraguruparan released the statement following Rao’s meeting with the Tamil Parties Forum.

 


The Democratic People’s Front statement further states;

 

The TPF expressed 11 points;

 

01. Meaningful resettlement in the war tone area

02.    Restoration of infrastructure

03.   Removal of High Security Zones step by step

04.   Stop the Military Colonisation in Tamil Areas

05.   Full Implementation of civil administration

06.   Compensation to those who lost their relative, properties and their part of the body.

07.   To stop all effort to change the deliberate demographic pattern in North East

08.   Reduce all security restrictions and strict security measures implemented during the war

09.   Allowing all INGOs and People’s Representatives to take part in re-settlement

10.   Implementation of 13th Amendment in full as a first step towards political solution.

11.   Release of all political prisoners and then captive LTTE carders surrendered atleast step by step.

 

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao expressed India’s sentiments towards the wellbeing of minorities in Sri Lanka but wondered why all couldn’t come together. She said the Scenario of 1987 has totally changed now and let you all look at everything in the present context. She promised to the best possible within the Limits available to India.
