When the terrorists were exploding bombs all over the country, no political party hoisted black flags against. Today, when amendments are being brought to change the constitution, some parties want to hoist black flags and declare it a black day, said Gampaha District Parliamentarian Mervin Silva.
It was only former Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle who stood by me. If he was there he would not have lost his Deputy Minister’s post, said Mr. Silva addressing the gathering at the Yatawatte Vidyaravinda Pirivena in Gampaha where a sermon hall in memory of late Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle was declared open.
The people will teach these political parties a lesson, added United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Mervin Silva. “I am also eager to welcome these party supporters who want to mark a black day. We will welcome with garlands if they come to Kelaniya,” said Mervin Silva.
