President condoles with British PM

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has sent a message of condolence to British Prime Minister David Cameron on the demise of his father. The message states the President is aware that Mr. Cameron always held his father in high esteem and often described him as his role model.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland



Your Excellency,



I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of your beloved father Mr. Ian Cameron.



I am aware that you always held your father in high esteem and often described him as your role model. You also repeatedly mentioned that your Big Society concept aimed at uniting the country through empowerment of people, resulted due to his inspiration and the values that he inculcated in you.


Please accept, Excellency, my sincere condolences at this time of great loss.
