Four students in Grade 5 at a primary school in the Maduragoda area of Kurunegala were hospitalized after ingesting some intoxicating pills.

According to the police, the students had consumed certain pills brought to school by one of the hospitalized students. The child had discovered the pills hidden at his home, reportedly belonging to his drug-addicted father, who has several pending drug-related cases.

The students have been admitted to Kurunegala General Hospital due to an allergic reaction. The Maduragoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
