A person had met his death after the roof which he climbed to raise a telephone cable for the Vel chariot to pass at Kotagala had collapsed. The incident had occurred this afternoon during the annual chariot festival of the Sri Mutthuvinayagar temple in the Kotagala town, says our reporter.

The person identified as Nadaraj Sudhakar, a father of two, had climbed the roof to raise the telephone line running across the road for the chariot to pass through. The roof had collapsed and the victim had fallen headlong and received injuries to his head.

He was pronounced dead when admitted to the Kotagala Hospital. Sudhakar has been an employee of Milco at Triton Estate in Kotagala. His body is lying at the Kotagala Hospital and Pathana Police are conducting further inquiries.
