A saffron-robed monk has been arrested by the Homagama Police for allegedly sexually abusing twin minors.

According to police, the suspect, who is also said to be involved in witchcraft, had allegedly sexually abused the 13-year-old brothers under the guise of providing medical treatment, upon advising their parents to let the boys stay with him for a few days for a ritualistic treatment.

The suspect was, however, released on a personal bail of Rs. 500,000 after being produced before the Homagama Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (28 Feb.).
