Richard Pieris Tyre Company felicitates High Performers at Dealer Convention

Richard Pieris Tyre Company the market leader and the pioneer in the tyre retreading business in Sri Lanka celebrated the much awaited annual Top Dealer Awards Ceremony 2010 and fellowship builder for families recently at Earls Regency Hotel in Kandy.


The dealer convention was graced by Paul Ratnayeke, Director Richard Peiris Group and Pushpika Janadheera Director/General Manager Richard Pieris Tyre Company.


From a distribution network of 1300 across the country, even covering the North and East, the best 60 dealers were short listed. The company has four decentralized factories located in Nawinna, Kandy, Kurunegala and Weligama. Families of the top performing dealers consider the event as an occasion to be able to meet and bond with fellowship and camaraderie.


Chief Guest at the awards ceremony Paul Ratnayeke, Director Richard Peiris Group praising the commitment of the dealer distribution said, “The Richard Pieris Tyre Company is the market leader and the pioneers in the tyre retreading business in Sri Lanka. The annual Dealer Convention is a special celebration as this is the gathering of the finest in the market in the country. The Dealer Convention and Awards Ceremony comprised awards under the two divisions of Re-Built Tyre and Imported Tyre segments. 50 dealers with sound sales of Arpidag, Arpico and Arpi Radial rebuild tires and 10 dealers who achieved best distributing Birla, Casumina and Corsa brands were short-listed based on the performance during the fiscal year 2009/2010.


Wasantha Kumara of Asiri Tyre Traders Negombo was judged as the Best Dealer of the Top Dealer Awards 2009/2010 whilst Kithsiri Bandara of Kandy Supiri Tyre House and M.H.T.J Shanthirathna of Shanthi Tyre Mart Dikwella gained the first and second runner-up place respectively.


Pushpika Janadheera Director/General Manager Richard Pieris Tyre Company said, “Today is a day dedicated for the whole tyre distribution sector in Sri Lanka. This event is anticipated by many of the dealers whom I have met and continues to link with the best in the industry through training sessions, discussions, recreational activities enjoyed by the whole family. We consider it our pride to invite a group who facilitate successful business relationships and confidence in continuing to produce the best results in the tyre market. We are grateful for your efforts”.


Furthermore, under the “Brand Excellence” category Wasantha Kumara of Asiri Tyre Traders Negombo was crowned as the winner, whilst Premalal Rodrigo of Kusum Tyre House Kelaniya and S.J. Winnie of Jayantha Brothers, Ambalantota were selected as the first and second runners-up correspondingly. Wasantha Kumara of Asiri Tyre Traders Negombo was specially recognized for his contribution and winning the overall re-built tyre category crown for the 5th consecutive year as well as the Brand Excellence Award for the 3rd consecutive year.


Apart from the general winner, 1st runners-up and second runners-up positions in both the re-built and imported tyre categories a special “Brand Excellence Award” was presented for imported tyre category. Within the re-built tyre category recognition was given under “Success Seekers”, Active Champions, Trophy Champions, Provincial Champions and Best Marketing sub categories creating enthusiasm amongst the respected dealers invited. In addition, top performers were rated provincially and island wide further encouraging high performance.
