Workers’ remittances and tourism earnings up in February 2024

Sri Lanka has recorded an over 16 percent increase in workers’ remittances while tourism earnings has increased by nearly 114 percent in February 2024 compared to the previous year, according to the latest data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Workers’ remittances reached USD 476.2 million in February 2024, showing a growth of 16.88% compared to February 2023.

Meanwhile the earnings from tourism in February 2024 was recorded as USD 345.7 million. This is an increase of 113.92% compared with the same month last year.
