Two inmates at A’pura open prison camp escape

Two inmates held at the open Prison Camp in Anuradhapura have escaped the facility on Friday afternoon (29). According to sources, the duo had been working at the prison canteen open for visitors.

Reportedly, the duo had discarded their prison uniforms and donned civilian clothing to escape.

Anuradhapura police and prison officials have launched a joint operation to apprehend the two escapees.

It is understood that one inmate was originally from Sravasthipura in Anuradhapura and the other, from Kelaniya.
