Measures taken to limit egg imports from India

Sri Lanka Association of Animal Production says it is possible to supply chicken and eggs without any shortage during the upcoming festive season.

President of the association Ajith Gunasekara expressed that it is also possible to sell frozen chicken at Rs. 1,000.

Meanwhile, steps have been taken to limit the import of eggs from India, according to State Trading Corporation.

Its chairman Asiri Walisundara mentioned that nearly 04 million imported eggs would be released to the market during the upcoming festive season.
