UNP Parliamentarian Dayasiri Jayasekara responding to accusations made by Anura Kumara Disanayake yesterday said he strongly condemns the statement made by the DNA Parliamentarian accusing him of backing the government’s political stance.
Anura Kumara answering to a question posed by media in a DNA press briefing yesterday accused Dayasiri Jayasekara of supporting the government’s stance when he had spoken in ill regard of Sarath Fonseka in a previous press conference.
“Sarath Fonseka, his family and everybody in the country knows how I worked in recent times for Mr. Fonseka and towards his victory” Dayasiri stated.
He accused that it was Anura Kumara and his party that was responsible for bringing a dictator to power along with the government in 2005.
Speaking to Ada Derana the UNP MP said that what he had said was in regard to a wrongly statement made by Sarath Fonseka about the United National Party and that the debate had ended then. He further added that Anura Kumara Disanayake should recognized friends from foes.
