Fairly heavy showers expected in parts of the island

The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in most provinces of the island after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in North-central, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Mullaitivu district.
Showers will occur at several places in Western and Southern provinces during the morning too.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
