17 LTTE suspects remanded

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered that 17 LTTE suspects be kept under remand custody till 15 October. The suspects were arrested in raids carried out by the CID in several parts in and around Colombo.

 

The group had been in hiding when arrested and is suspected of entering Colombo in order to carryout destructive acts in recent times.

 

Investigations have revealed that several of the arrested suspects have been involved in certain activities that had taken place along the Mannar and Chilaw sea stretch.
