40 hospitalized after bus accident

A bus accident that took place at around 7.30 am today at Narangal in the Badulla-Galauda road has left 40 people injured. The wounded have been admitted to the Kandegedara and Badulla hospitals while 5 of the injured are critical, hospital sources revealed.

 

 

The bus traveling from Galauda towards Badulla was said to have been filled with passengers at the time of the accident.

 

 

According to the Badulla Police several students, the driver and the conductor of the bus are amongst the injured. The students traveling on the bus were on their way to an educational convention, police officials reported.

 

 

The Sri Lanka Transport Board and the Badulla Police are conducting further investigations on the accident.
