Lankan in Qatar dies from fumes

A Sri Lankan employed in Qatar as an electrician has died after a fire had irrupted in basement of the hotel he was working for. The cause of death is reported to be the inhaling of fumes produced by a chemical used to put out fires.


The Lankan, a resident of Pallepola, Mathale had been working on the 9th floor of the building when the fire had irrupted and on his way down had come in contact with a chemical which has caused his death. The chemical is said to be used by firefighters to contain the flames.
