Woman and two children drown in abandoned water-filled quarry

A 32-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 9 and 14, have drowned in an abandoned water-filled quarry at Kawanthissapura, Tissamaharama.

The woman’s body has been recovered, and a search is underway to recover the bodies of the two daughters, according to the police.

It is reported that the mother and her two children had gone to bathe in this water-filled quarry last evening (21).
