The Bureau of Rehabilitation has initiated the establishment of a special center dedicated to rehabilitating women addicted to dangerous drugs.

The facility, located in the Vavuniya area, has the capacity to rehabilitate up to 100 women. Rehabilitation will be carried out under court orders, focusing on supporting women struggling with drug addiction.

The Commissioner General of Rehabilitation has informed the Ministry of Justice, Prison Affairs, and Constitutional Reforms about the center, and the Judicial Service Commission has notified all judges to refer women drug addicts in need of rehabilitation to this new facility.
