Suspect arrested with elephant pearls worth Rs. 12 mln

Officers from the Negombo Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a suspect attempting to sell five elephant pearls (Gajamuthu).

According to the police, the value of these elephant pearls is approximately Rs. 12 million.

The arrested suspect is a 38-year-old resident of the Gelioya area.

The suspect has been handed over to the Negombo Police Station.
