Matara District final result: NPP wins 6 seats, SJB secures one

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Matara District in the 2024 General Election with the National People’s Power (NPP) polling more than 69% of the total votes in the district.

NPP has polled 317,541 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 74,475 votes (16.38%).

Accordingly, the NPP has secured 6 seats in the district while the SJB have won one seat in the district.

National People’s Power (NPP) – 317,541 (6 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 74,475 (1 seat)
New Democratic Front (NDF) – 31,009
‘Sarvajana Balaya’ (SRJB) – 11,776
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) – 9,432
