Batticaloa District final result: ITAK wins 3 seats

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results for the Batticaloa District in the 2024 General Election with the Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) polling more than 33% of the total votes in the district.
 
ITAK has polled 96,975 votes to win the district while the National People’s Power (NPP) is second with 55,498 votes (19.33%).

 

Accordingly, the ITAK has secured 3 seats in the district while the NPP and SLMC have won 1 seat each in the district. 

 

Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) – 96,975 (3 seats)
National People’s Power (NPP) – 55,498 (1 seat)
The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) – 40,139 (1 seat)
Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) – 31,286
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 22,570
