NPP secures 16 seats in Gampaha District, SJB gets 3

The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has released the final results of the Gampaha District in the 2024 General Election with the National People’s Power (NPP) polling more than 72% of the total votes in the district. 

NPP has polled 898,759 votes to win the district while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) is second with 150,445 votes (12.18%).

The NPP has secured 16 seats in the district while the SJB has won 3 seats in the district. 

Accordingly, with this, the NPP has now secured a two-thirds majority in the Parliament

National People’s Power (NPP) – 898,759 (16 seats)
Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – 150,445 (3 seats)
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) – 49,516
New Democratic Front (NDF) – 47,512
‘Sarvajana Balaya’ (SRJB) – 25,939
