Indian actor Saif Ali Khan attacked by intruder at Mumbai home, hospitalized

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has reportedly been attacked at his Mumbai home, and is currently admitted to the Lilavati Hospital.

Mumbai police confirmed that an unidentified person intruded at his home and the actor had a scuffle with them. It was during this that the actor was injured. 

The matter is currently under investigation.

As per a statement by the hospital’s COO, the actor was admitted at 3-3:30 am with six injuries, with one of the injuries being very close to his spine. 

The extent of the damage is not known yet. Niraj Uttamani, CEO of Lilavati Hospital, told Hindustan Times, “Saif Ali Khan was brought to Lilavati (hospital) at 3-30 am.

He has six injuries of which two are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will be tell extent of damage only after the surgery is done.”

DCP Bandra division confirmed with the same publication, “It’s true. The robbery attempt happened around 2:30am. The intruder entered the house and fled after the occupants woke up. Saif is injured and admitted to Lilavati Hospital, but it doesn’t look serious.”
